History of Dogs – Revealing the Relation Between a Wolf And a Dog

Looking at the way, people adore their dogs nowadays, questions like “From when is this friendship going on?” or “What is the history of dogs?” can easily creep in your mind. The dogs are supposed to be the man’s best friend at home. So, it’s natural that he will be curious behind the history of his best friend’s originality.

Most of the biologists believe that probably all the dogs have descended from an animal named Tomarctus, who lived about 15 million years ago. With the ages, different breeds of dogs came into the world. However, the oldest known breed is the Saluki hunting dogs, which were used by the Egyptians. Many more breeds, claim to be the first real dog on Earth. Whatever the case exactly be, a recent study using mitochondrial DNA, suggests that the dogs and the wolves splitted into different species a million year ago. It is now probably accepted by most of the biologists that the dogs are definitely the descendants of the grey wolf.
